PAX PROPTER VIM - “PEACE THROUGH POWER”

The Port of Baltimore was the site of the Commissioning Ceremony for the most powerful,
technologically-advanced, United States Destroyer in our history – USS ZUMWALT DDG 1000.

October 15, 2016

The ship and crew are now in their homeport of San Diego, CA!

This FIRST IN CLASS ship introduces major innovations in design: stealth profile, small crew size,
wave-piercing tumblehome hull, state-of-the-art electric propulsion and the latest long-range gun
and missile weaponry. The USS ZUMWALT is unlike any warship that has ever sailed the seas.

whose tenure as CNO was marked by the trail-blazing initiatives to
improve the quality of life for our enlisted sailors.

He took truly bold and unprecedented actions, captured in his famous Z-Grams,
that ultimately opened doors for today’s women and ethnic and racial minorities to enter,
